Bring them Home!

The Cardiff Amnesty International Group and Free Nazanin Campaign need your help with a new online initiative.

Ahead of the end of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s sentence on 7th March 2021 we are asking everyone to join an online campaign calling on the Iranian Government to free dual-national citizens being held in the country. Amnesty members and others are being asked to make short recordings saying “Bring them Home”.

Cardiff Amnesty has been calling for the release of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe for the past five years after she was detained by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on 3rd April 2016. Our photographic mosaic is made up of just some of the hundreds of photos that we have taken. Since this time a number of UK-Iranian dual-nationals, British nationals or individuals with close ties to the UK to have also been detained in relation to serious charges in Iran in recent years.

Anoosheh Ashoori

Overall, scores of people in the country have been imprisoned on spurious national security grounds such as Anoosheh Ashoori, a UK-Iranian dual-national, jailed for ten years on espionage charges. The Cardiff Amnesty International Group calls on the Iranian Government to immediately release and repatriate those dual-national citizens that have been unjustly targeted. Likewise, we are calling on the UK Government to make urgent representations on behalf of all British nationals imprisoned, detained or awaiting trial in Iran.
