Take Action: Put Rights at the Heart of the Welsh Election

Amnesty Cardiff Group have worked with Amnesty International UK and groups across Wales to create a campaign pressuring candidates for the upcoming Assembly election to pledge to help keep the Human Rights Act.

As Wales elects its new National Assembly, we want to make sure that candidates know how their constituents feel when it comes to the big human rights issues in our country today. We want to see a government that stands up for rights – at home and abroad.

Will your candidate take the pledge?

We are asking potential Assembly Members to commit to

  • Welcoming refugees to Wales
  • Supporting efforts for a coordinated response to the refugee crisis in Europe
  • Saving the Human Rights Act
  • Putting human rights at the heart of Wales’ international relations.
